How we’re adapting in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic :
Our joint efforts with distributors allow us to cope with the Covid-19 pandemic and many actions have been implemented both by us and by our distributors to face this crisis.
At Lallemand Pharma we have put in place a BCP: Business Continuity Plan, to adapt our activities to the Covid-19 crisis. We analyzed regularly the evolution of the needs of our partners and distributors through a survey to best adapt our different activities. We thank all our partners who have been able to ensure continuity of distribution around the world to allow the patient’s access to their needed medication.
Hydroalcoholic gel production
The hand sanitizer project is led by Lallemand Biofuels and Distilled Spirits (LBDS), one of LALLEMAND business units. As the economic crisis deepened and gasoline consumption became very low, many fuel ethanol factories and distilleries have been forced to slow down or stop production completely. Many producers are looking for alternatives for their alcohol. One way is by producing hand sanitizers to help factories stay afloat financially while providing much needed supplies to health care workers and first responders, helping to counter the severe shortage of sanitizers.
Many factories, both fuel and distilling, have made many efforts to help with this project. In particular helping to ensure that the infrastructures in place were able to produce hand sanitizers. The project started as a way to help craft distillers to shift their thinking through a series of infographics designed to help them produce as much alcohol as possible. For fuel producers, the shift was to make higher quality alcohol needed to reach specifications for hard sanitizer use.1

Improvement of mint flavor :
We have been working on improving the mint flavor of our PMBL sublingual tablets. The aroma will be implemented soon this year offering a better taste. It has been shown that an improved flavor can in turn improve medical therapy compliance. In particular with children, the visual aspect and flavor of a medicine can have a major impact for their acceptance.
Implementation of QMS : Quality Management System
In our continued efforts and to optimize operational efficiency and strengthen overall compliance, we have implemented a Quality Management System according to ISO 13485.
A Quality Management System (QMS) is defined as a formalized system that documents processes, procedures, and responsibilities for achieving quality policies and objectives. A QMS helps coordinate organization’s activities to meet customer and regulatory requirements and improve its effectiveness and efficiency on a continuous basis.
