Lallemand Pharma

Production

The innovative and unique nature of our active ingredient, Polyvalent Mechanical Bacterial Lysate lies in its unique production process, exclusively developed and conducted in-house in Lallemand GMP-pharma certified plant. The process starts by the fermentation of the most common respiratory pathogenic bacteria strains, which are then inactivated and killed by heat. The inactivated pathogens are then mechanically disrupted by high pressure lysis. This original process guarantees an optimal preservation of the antigens, for optimal interaction with the immune system. This confers to our PMBL® sublingual tablets a far more efficient immunogenic activity than other bacterial lysates. This superior immunostimulant activity has been documented by both in vitro and clinical studies.

After fermentation of our proprietary marine bacteria, the product of fermentation undergoes a step of centrifugation. This step allows to isolate on one part the biomass that will be removed and on the other part, the supernatant that contains all the by-products of fermentation. Different steps of filtration and ultrafiltration are necessary to isolate Symbiofilm® ingredient that will undergo a last step of lyophilization.
