We would like to share a new publication about bacterial lysates from the Department of Biotechnology Development, Institute of Hygiene, Faculty of Medicine, Montevideo in Uruguay.
Bacterial Lysates have already shown their interest in the reduction of recurrent RTIs in childhood, and their positive outcomes for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults.
In this publication entitled “Bacterial Lysates as Immunotherapies for Respiratory Infections: Methods of Preparation”, Pr Sùarez summarized several points of interest on mechanical bacterial lysates :
-Mechanical lysis could be more efficient than chemical lysis ensuring a better preservation of the antigens.
-A new technology using focused-ultrasonication could address the challenges of standardizing procedures for producing mechanical bacterial lysates.
